The Inn at Holiday Valley offers a convenient location directly on the ski hill, with potential for lift access and access to amenities like a hot tub and pool. However, recent reviews highlight significant issues with room quality, service responsiveness, and ongoing maintenance problems, including plumbing issues and outdated rooms.
This place is really nice place to stay. The only thing is we wish that they would have high rise toilet. The room only has a mini frig and a kurik coffee maker. The free breakfast was excellent with no disappointments.
I've seen some odd wiring, but the switches in this place control some of combination of lights and outlets, even worse, and very frustrating, the light in the bathroom comes on when it feels like it, and not just in my room! The fan that comes on in the bathroom with the light seems like it's on low speed, the next switch turns the fan on a high speed. And not just my room, my coworkers all said you had to run the shower for at least 5 minutes for the rusty water to clear up, same as mine. The continental breakfast was good.
Loved it! Coming again next year! You walk right out of the hotel and onto the ski hill. Lift right outside the hotel. Phenomenal. Thank you to all the staff. We booked a room here for 2 nights over March break, 2026. We got a package with lift tickets for 3 days of skiing. The weather was ideal, two days of fresh snow, which we were not expecting in mid-March. The hot tub and swimming pool are fantastic! Shelly does a terrific job running the evening bar service in the hotel lounge. Breakfast was included and decent. Coffee available in the lobby all day.
Front desk staff was not very friendly at all, our room wasn’t ready until almost an hour past check-in time. My partner was sick in the car when we arrived at the Inn and I asked if there was any way our room could be prioritized as my partner was literally throwing up in the parking lot, lady at the front desk ignored this and our room took what felt like forever until it was ready as we had planned to ski the day we arrived before my partner fell sick and got to the Inn at 1:30 PM, check in wasn’t until 4 PM, we didn’t get into our room until almost 4:45 PM. When we got it, it had a weird smell and the fridge didn’t work. I’ve had better service at a Holiday Inn. Breakfast was OK at best, bacon was the translucent microwaveable bacon and eggs were the cheap school cafeteria miniature omelets with fake cheese in them. Nasty. Then the front desk woman said I would receive a 20% discount on our rate for the wait, this was never issued and I had to call back TWO WEEKS LATER to request it again!! Ridiculous! The bartender at the bar in the lobby was very friendly.
We stayed here almost 30 years ago and wanted to come back to enjoy it again as the website claimed it was newly refurbished. To our surprise, this was far from true. We booked a lift view ski in/ski out room. We were placed on the second floor and had to climb up and down icy cement stairs with our skis and poles. Though this probably sounds doable, it’s extremely difficult to accomplish in a pair of ski boots. It was a struggle for our children. The room was extremely outdated. There were no updated USB charging ports, which would have been very useful to charge our heated gloves and socks. We stayed 2 nights with 2 rooms and 7 people. During our first night, the bathtub in one room filled up with water when it was time to shower as the drain was plugged and both rooms did not have hot water. We reported the heating issue to the front desk, but it wasn’t fixed as they said the pilot was out and it would be awhile before it came back on. Meanwhile, it was already 10 o’clock at night. The next day, we had them come and unclog the drain. During the second night, the same exact issue happened where we didn’t have hot water. Again, it couldn’t be fixed. Even though they compensated us with a 10% discount, it still wasn’t worth the hassle and not being able to enjoy a hot shower after being out in the cold all day. After reading some of these reviews, it appears that this is a known problem that they ignore. Additionally, there aren’t any dining options unless you want to cross the street or venture up to the main lodge. The parking lot provides very limited space to park. The pool still had leaves around the edge which shows you how well it is maintained. We will be choosing the Tamarack Club for our next stay as they offer way more amenities. The Tamarack Club even offers a ski check on the lower level so you don’t have to carry your skis to and from your room each time.
