Camp at the Rocks offers a unique and adventurous experience for families and outdoor enthusiasts, centered around exploring its impressive rock formations and historical trail. Guests consistently praise the engaging, off-trail hiking opportunities and the beautiful, immersive natural setting. While generally positive, some note the challenging terrain and the need for appropriate footwear.
Such a cool experience - our family walked/hiked the trail. The historical posts along the hike told an interesting story that added to the fun. Restrooms were very clean and merch shop was fully stocked ?
So fun! Went with my 10 and 6 year old and it was very do-able for them. The path is pretty simple but there are chances to go off road to get more difficult exploring. Great trip, worth doing!
The biggest playground ever!! It was worth every penny - roots and rocks and crevasses and caves. We took almost two hours exploring the one mile trail and had a blast. Explore (at your own risk) the maze of crevasses and see where you end up, then work your way back to the less adventurous of your group. You will be glad you came to see this beautiful scenic wonder of the area.
Panama Rocks is an absolute blast if you love off-trail exploring. Unlike most parks that force you to stay on a paved path, you are actively encouraged to climb, crawl, and weave through the massive rock formations here. As you can see in my photos, the towering, moss-covered walls create an incredible atmosphere that feels like an entirely different world. Some of the crevices and caves get extremely deep and tight. It's a fantastic primitive hike with endless nooks to discover. Definitely wear solid hiking shoes and give yourself plenty of time to get lost in the labyrinth!
We loved visiting Panama Rocks! The hike is an easy, family-friendly walk, with plenty of opportunities to explore side areas, climb, and discover more of the formations if you’d like a little extra adventure. The staff at check-in were very friendly, and receiving a free souvenir at the end was a nice touch. The rock formations and surrounding nature are breathtaking and unlike anything else, offering a sense of history as you walk through the trail. They also have a charming gift shop for anyone who wants to take home a keepsake. This place is truly one of a kind, and we would absolutely go back again.
